Walmart Marketplace fee calculator
Enter your sale, pick your category, and see Walmart's cut — a referral fee on the total sales price, item plus the shipping you charge — and your net profit after your own costs.
Rates are the referral fees from Walmart's official pricing page, all 36 category rows, verified on the date shown below.
Walmart charges the referral fee on the total sales price — item plus the shipping you charge. No monthly fee, no separate processing line; WFS fulfillment is a separate rate card.

This is the standard sale used on every calculator here and on the six-marketplace comparison, so the platforms can be held against each other — which is why it differs from the boxes at the top of the page. Put your own numbers up there and the breakdown follows. The “Everything Else” category row; the other 35 rows charge differently. The postage label is left out of this example; the calculator above takes it.

How Walmart's referral fee actually works
Walmart Marketplace charges one fee when an item sells: a referral fee that depends on the category, calculated on the total sales price — in Walmart's words, the item price as well as shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges. There is no setup fee, no monthly subscription and no separate payment-processing line; Walmart's own pricing page promises zero setup, monthly or hidden fees, and payouts run through Marketplace Wallet.
That absence of a processing line puts Walmart alongside eBay and against Etsy, Depop and Shopify, where processing is a visible extra. It also makes Walmart's headline rate more comparable than it first appears: 15% on the catch-all category row is all of it, where Etsy's 6.5% still needs 3% + $0.25 added.
Most categories sit at fifteen per cent — Home, Kitchen, Decor & Garden; Toys & Games; Pet Supplies; Tools & Home Improvement; Books; Shoes & Handbags; and the catch-all Everything Else. Some run lower: Personal Computers at 6%; Consumer Electronics, Camera & Photo, Major Appliances and Video Game Consoles at 8%; Automotive, Musical Instruments and Industrial at twelve; Tires and Plumbing at ten.

Two kinds of tier, and Walmart words them differently
A handful of rows are tiered, and Walmart writes the tiers two distinct ways. It is easy to miss, and the two shapes produce very different bills.
“For items with a total sales price of $15 or less” means the whole sale is charged at that bracket's rate. Apparel & Accessories works this way — 5% up to $15 · 10% $15–20 · 15% over $20 — as do Baby, Beauty and Grocery, which sit at eight per cent on small sales and fifteen above their threshold. Crossing the threshold by a cent re-rates the entire order, so a $20.01 apparel sale costs meaningfully more than a $19.99 one.
“For the portion of the total sales price up to $250” means each slice pays its own rate, exactly like an income-tax bracket. Jewelry is 20% up to $250 · 5% over $250 (per portion); Watches 15% up to $1500 · 3% over $1500 (per portion); Indoor & Outdoor Furniture 15% up to $200 · 10% over $200 (per portion); Electronics Accessories 15% up to $100 · 8% over $100 (per portion). Here crossing a threshold never re-rates what came below it.
The calculator applies the right shape to every row, which is the part a generic percentage field cannot do — and the reason a single universal fee calculator would have to be wrong about Walmart.
The category is a field in your item setup
Walmart assigns the referral fee from the category on your item, which you set when you create it. That makes miscategorisation a double cost: the item is harder to find because it sits in the wrong filter tree, and it can be charged a rate from the far end of the table.
Check the category on any item whose margin looks wrong before you check anything else. It is the fastest thing on this list to verify and the most expensive to have wrong, and unlike a price or a title it is not something a shopper will ever point out to you.
If your contract carries a negotiated rate, or your category is not in the list above, choose “I know my rate” in the selector and type the percentage. The 36 rows here are Walmart's public table as of the verification date; category exceptions come from your Seller Center agreement — Walmart's own caveat on the Outdoors Products & Sports row, for instance, reads “8% for specific items — check your category”.
What this calculator leaves out on purpose
Walmart Fulfillment Services. WFS has its own rate card for storage and fulfilment, priced by size and weight, and Walmart publishes a calculator for it. Folding a guess into this page would be worse than leaving the line out.
Advertising and returns. Sponsored placements are a budget you set, not a fee on the sale. Returns return some fees and not others, under rules that differ by category and reason code.
Shipping is not left out — it is inside the base, as it is on Etsy, eBay and Amazon Handmade. Free shipping with a higher item price and paid shipping with a lower one cost you the same referral fee, so that choice is purely about how the offer converts.
And nothing on this page says anything about how often an item sells. We can read a published fee schedule; we cannot see your views, your position in Walmart search or your orders.
Where the fee stops and the product name starts
The referral fee is fixed by the category and does not move. What moves is whether the item is found and bought at your price, and on Walmart that is mostly a product-name, key-features and attributes problem.
Walmart is stricter about the product name than any other marketplace in this group. It expects a specific order of elements rather than a keyword-rich sentence, it is much shorter than sellers coming from Etsy expect, and it rejects promotional words outright — the “best”, “sale” and “free shipping” that would merely look unpolished elsewhere are grounds for rejection here. A listing that is live but unpublished, or live but invisible, is more often a content-rule problem than a fee problem.
That is a different job from this calculator, and the two links below are where it is done.

Free on this page, and what the Walmart generator writes
Free on this page, no account
- All 36 category rows, with bracket and marginal tiers applied correctly
- An “I know my rate” field for negotiated or unlisted rates
- Net profit and margin after your materials and your real label cost
- No account, no email, nothing stored
In the Walmart generator
- A product name built in Walmart's expected order rather than as a keyword sentence
- Promotional words kept out, because Walmart rejects them
- Key features and attributes written to Walmart's structure
- A 0–100 score on the text before you submit it
- The same product rewritten for Etsy, eBay, Amazon Handmade, Shopify or Depop
The fee is the marketplace's decision and it does not move. What the listing says is yours, and that is the part this site was built to write.

Does Walmart charge a monthly fee?
No. Walmart Marketplace's pricing page states there are zero setup, monthly or hidden fees. You pay a referral fee on each sale, by category, and optionally for Walmart Fulfillment Services or advertising.
Is there a separate payment-processing fee?
Not as a separate line for marketplace sellers — unlike Etsy or Shopify. Payouts run through Marketplace Wallet, and the referral fee is the cost of the sale. If your payout provider charges you something on its side, add it to your costs.
Is the referral fee charged on shipping too?
Yes. Walmart calculates the referral fee on the total sales price — item price plus shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges — which is why the calculator adds your shipping charge to the base.
What is the difference between the two kinds of tier?
A bracket tier charges the whole sale at the rate of the band it falls into, so crossing the threshold re-rates everything — Apparel is 5% up to $15 · 10% $15–20 · 15% over $20. A marginal tier charges each slice at its own rate, like tax bands — Jewelry is 20% up to $250 · 5% over $250 (per portion). The calculator applies the correct shape per category.
My category isn't listed, or my rate is different — what do I do?
Choose “I know my rate” in the category selector and type your percentage. The 36 rows here are Walmart's public table as of the verified date; contract rates and category exceptions come from your Seller Center agreement.
