Depop fee calculator
Depop removed its selling fee in the US and UK back in 2024 — so what do you actually pay? Payment processing on every sale, and a boosting fee only when a Boosted Listing sells.
Most fee posts still show the old 8% boost rate. Depop's help centre puts it at 12% for UK/US sellers on new listings from 23 March 2026 — this calculator carries the current, dated numbers.

This is the standard sale used on every calculator here and on the six-marketplace comparison, so the platforms can be held against each other — which is why it differs from the boxes at the top of the page. Put your own numbers up there and the breakdown follows. US seller, listing not boosted (a boosted sale adds 12%). The postage label is left out of this example; the calculator above takes it.

What Depop actually charges in 2026
For US and UK sellers the base picture is unusually clean: the Depop selling fee is 0% — removed in 2024, the UK first and the US on 15 July 2024. What every sale does pay is payment processing through Depop Payments: 3.3% + $0.45 in the US and 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK, charged on the item price plus shipping and any applicable taxes.
That is the whole of it for an unboosted sale, and it produces a take rate in the low single digits — the cheapest of the six by a wide margin on any normal item. Depop's calculator page therefore spends most of its time on the two things that are not the base fee: boosting, and the fee that is not yours to pay.
Sellers outside the UK, US and Australia are in a different regime: the old 10% selling fee still applies there, alongside PayPal processing rather than Depop Payments. This calculator models the US and UK cases, which the region switch above selects between.

Boosted Listings: the 12% most calculators still print as 8%
Boosted Listings is Depop's optional promotion, and its fee is charged only when the boost leads to a sale — you are not billed for impressions. The rate is 12% for sellers in the UK and the US on new listings from 23 March 2026. Before that date it was 8%, and 8% is still the rate for sellers outside the UK and US, which is why the old number has proved so hard to kill.
Go looking and you will find a great many fee guides, calculators and “Depop fees explained” posts still printing 8% for everyone. If you priced a boosted item off one of those, you are four points of margin short and the listing looks fine. That single stale number is the reason this page prints a verification date; the date is the only thing that distinguishes a current figure from a confident one.
Whether to boost is a per-item decision rather than a habit. Boosting turns Depop from the cheapest of the six into something close to eBay: an unboosted sale pays only processing, while the same sale boosted pays processing plus 12%. Toggle it above and read both numbers before you decide.
The Marketplace fee is the buyer's, not yours
Depop charges buyers a Marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1 at checkout. It does not come out of your payout and it is not in the breakdown above, because it is not your fee.
It does matter to your pricing, though, in the way any tax on the buyer matters: it raises the total the shopper sees. A $30 item is not a $30 decision for them. That pushes Depop toward round, honest pricing and away from the fee-shifting games that work on platforms where the buyer sees only your number.
This is also the reason a naive comparison makes Depop look even cheaper than it is. The platform is genuinely inexpensive for the seller; part of what pays for it is a charge the buyer carries.
Worked example — boosted against unboosted
Take a $30 item with $5 shipping from a US seller. Unboosted, processing is 3.3% + $0.45 of $35, which is $1.61 — a take rate under five per cent, and about a third of what the same sale would cost on Etsy or eBay.
Boost the same listing and 12% of $35 is added, taking total fees to $5.81 and the take rate to roughly seventeen per cent — level with eBay's all-in. Boosting can absolutely be worth it; the point is that it is a fee decision, not a marketing decision, and it should be made with the number in front of you.
The waterfall above runs the standard $40 sale used across all six of these calculators, so you can hold Depop against the others on identical inputs rather than on adjectives.
Depop has no title field, which changes what you are paying for
Depop is the only marketplace in this group with no separate title field at all. What looks like a title in search results is the first line of your description, truncated — so the first few words carry the entire job that a title, tags and a description share elsewhere.
It also gives you five hashtags rather than Etsy's thirteen tags, and those hashtags live in the description rather than in a dedicated field. Five slots is not a small version of thirteen; it is a different exercise, and spending two of them on the obvious category word is how most listings waste them.
None of that changes your fee by a cent. It changes whether the item is seen at the price you set, which is the half of the equation a fee calculator cannot help with.

Free on this page, and what the Depop generator writes
Free on this page, no account
- Processing for the US and the UK, with the boost case as a toggle
- The current 12% boost rate with the date it changed and the date it was verified
- Net profit and margin after your materials and your real label cost
- No account, no email, nothing stored
In the Depop generator
- A first line written to survive Depop's truncation, since there is no title field
- Five hashtags chosen to cover five different searches, not five words for one
- A description written the way Depop buyers read one
- A 0–100 score on the text before you post it
- The same product rewritten for Etsy, eBay, Amazon Handmade, Walmart or Shopify
The fee is the marketplace's decision and it does not move. What the listing says is yours, and that is the part this site was built to write.
Write a Depop listing →Questions, answered
Is Depop really a 0% selling fee?
For sellers in the US, UK and Australia, yes — the 10% selling fee was removed in 2024. You still pay payment processing on each sale, and sellers outside those countries still pay 10% plus PayPal processing.
Is the boost fee 8% or 12%?
Both, depending on where you sell from. Depop's fee table puts boosting at 12% for sellers in the UK and US on new listings from 23 March 2026, and 8% for sellers outside the UK and US. Many calculators and blog posts still print 8% for everyone, which was the pre-March rate; the source link below is Depop's own fee page.
Do I pay the Marketplace fee?
No — that one (up to 5% + up to $1) is charged to the buyer on top of your price. It doesn't come out of your payout, but it does make your item cost more at checkout, which is worth factoring into how you price.
Am I charged for boosting if the item doesn't sell?
No. The Boosted Listings fee is charged on a sale that came through the boost, not on impressions or on the act of boosting. That is what makes it a per-item decision rather than an ad budget.
Which rates does this calculator use?
US: 3.3% + $0.45 processing. UK: 2.9% + £0.30. Boost: 12% when toggled. All from Depop's official “Seller fees and charges” help page, re-verified on the date shown below.
